Rating of legality

The rating of legality is an instrument introduced by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development in order to certify the virtuous and transparent behavior of enterprises. The Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) is responsible for evaluating applications submitted by companies and assigning the rating to legality.

The rating ranges is from one to three stars, where a star means possession of the minimum requirements and three-star implies the adoption of all the cogent and volunteer systems for the transparency provided by the regulation. There are also intermediate evaluations (1+, 1++, 2,2+, 2++) that correspond to increasing degrees of compliance.
